What are common conditions that are treated with hand therapy?
Hand therapists will treat arthritis, fractures, we see a lot of wrist fractures in the winter time when people fall on the ice. We will treat injuries in the workplace where if someone has gotten their hand caught in a machine. We treat sports injuries, a patient is playing football, grabs somebody's jersey and it rips the tendon in their hand. There's just a multitude of things that we treat. We also treat overuse injuries, such as carpal tunnel and cubital tunnel.
