Some patients may ask if there are alternatives to a revision total knee arthroplasty. This is as much patient dependent and the reason for the revision itself. If a patient has gone through physical therapy, they've done their due diligence, they may have tried some anti-inflammatories, over the counter Tylenol and they still have a painful knee or the knee is still a bit loose on them, this may be a good reason to get a revision knee. A lot of the decisions about a revision total knee arthroplasty are dependent on if the risks themselves are outweighed by the benefits that you'd obtain by doing the revision total knee.
