Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield and Premier Health Partners Extend Agreement
DAYTON, Ohio – July 9, 2010 – Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield in Ohio and Premier Health Partners (PHP) have signed a renewed and extended agreement giving Anthem members the ability to receive in-network health care services from Miami Valley and Good Samaritan (closed in 2018) hospitals, Premier HealthNet physicians and affiliated ancillary and professional services through December 31, 2013. Contracts with Atrium Medical Center and Upper Valley Medical Center remain in place and run through the end of 2012.
The extension includes most Anthem products, including traditional and managed care plans (Blue Traditional, Blue Preferred and Blue Access) as well as senior HMO and PPO products (Anthem Senior Advantage and Anthem Medicare Preferred).
“During these difficult economic times and in light of health care reform, it is imperative that Anthem and Premier Health Partners continue to work together to support this community’s needs,” said Erin Hoeflinger, president of Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield in Ohio.
Premier hospitals will also participate in Anthem’s Hospital Quality Program. In place in Ohio since 1992, Anthem’s Hospital Quality Program measures the quality of medical care based on self-reported data related to a number of patient safety and health issues.
