Dr. Northup Recognized by the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery

C. Joe Northup, MD, FACS, FASMBS, of Premier Weight Loss Solutions, recently received national recognition and two significant honors from the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery (ASMBS).
ASMBS is the largest society
of bariatric surgeons in the U.S., and their vision is to improve public health by lessening the burden of the disease of obesity. ASMBS members are involved in committees that impact research, education, patient access, reimbursement, innovation,
communication, and public service.
Dr. Northup is the 2019-2020 Chairman of the ASMBS Access to Care Committee – a committee of about 90 members focused on increasing patients' access to care and advocating for legislative changes
on the state and local level that affect health care coverage. To recognize the committee for their excellent work, ASMBS members voted for them as the 2019-2020 ASMBS Committee of the Year!
Dr. Northup was also selected by his peers as
one of only eight surgeons to serve as a member of the ASMBS Executive Council for 2019-2020. "I'm honored to receive this recognition from ASMBS, and it's a privilege to bring this acknowledgement to our Premier Weight Loss Solutions team and Premier
Health," said Dr. Northup.
