Hi, my name is Matt Lawless. I am an orthopedic surgeon. I went to medical school at the University of Louisville. I then did my residency training at Wright State. I then did a fellowship in knee surgery in Indianapolis at Methodist Sports Medicine Center. I practice now for the most part just in knees and do knee surgery. A small part of my practice is fracture work, but most typically what I do is knee surgery.
I do all breadths of knee surgery. I do knee arthroplasty, which is knee replacement surgery. I do knee scopes. I do ligament repairs, ligament reconstructions, kneecap dislocations, any sort of knee surgery that needs to be done is what we address. In our office, I work with physical therapists and we also address a lot of, many non-operative things. Also, a common thing we see is patellofemoral pain -- how to treat non-operative -- pains of the knee.
Most patients that end up in my office end up there because of a referral from a primary care doctor. They usually pass them on to someone like me. Like I said before, we do just knees for the most part, so we do specialize in it. My staff is situated to take care of knee problems, the therapist I work with takes care of knee problems, so we all focus our life's work on knee problems.
