Well it’s important to exercise if you have diabetes. It’s as important as medication in the fact if you do the exercise, you lose the weight, you’re in better shape, your body responds better to the sugar levels, you may not even require medication any longer. Which is a nice little carrot to kind of dangle out there for diabetics. They do what they’re supposed to, sometimes you get off medication, makes it much nicer for them. The second part of that question, how much exercise do you want to get as a diabetic? As much as you tolerate is really the answer. Really there’s no set time, whatever you’re comfortable with and anything that you do is going to be helpful. So I typically don’t quote a specific amount of time during the day. If you do read up on it, they say 30 minutes a day cardiovascular exercise, but really anything they get is good.
