Are seizures the only symptom of epilepsy?
Seizures are the hallmark of epilepsy; that's the symptom that defines it. It's a brain problem, obviously, with the seizures coming from the brain. There are other comorbidities and problems that epileptic patients tend to get. Memory problems are common. Depression is common. For long-term patients that have very bad seizures that are not a candidate for epilepsy surgery or other treatments, they can have cognitive changes, personality changes. Then of course because of the seizures, they tend to have injuries as well.
