Risks of seizures and epilepsy with recurrent seizures include injuries. People frequently fall and break bones. The intensity of the muscle contraction can actually break the spinal column, that can cause vertebral collapse. You can also injure your brain; people fall down and have bleeding in the brain. If someone has long term seizures, you have to continue to get imaging because at some point, occasionally, very rarely, people will develop tumors. Those are risk factors.
Chronically, people have memory problems and personality changes. They're at higher risk for depression and other psychiatric illnesses.
Obviously they also have risks to medication and any side effects to medication.
