To measure your bone density it's important to get routine DEXA Scans as part of your yearly well woman check. As you're getting scheduled for your yearly mammograms, for your pap smears, and your pelvic exams, I think it's important to get a DEXA Scan, because that's another area that can really affect your lifestyle and your morbidity, because these fractures are not benign. They can really lead to a decrease in function and activity. So it's something to also kind of stay on top of and just have that reminder, that your yearly check-up is coming up, and a DEXA Scan should be definitely part of that conversation.
