If a patient experiences speech problems after epilepsy surgery, what therapies are available?

After epilepsy surgery if someone is having difficulty with their speech, say word finding problems or a little more trouble with memory, generally it takes a little while for the brain to recover and function again. Part of the brain was removed, it has to get used to that. Speech therapy will help. Occupational therapy will help. Continuing on medication and making sure that no seizures occur will also help. Time, usually, several months goes by before people feel like they're perfectly back to normal or nearly back to normal.
