What is the role of the gynecologist-oncologist?
GYN-oncology is a sub-specialty of OB-GYN. We have special treatment. The treatment of pre-invasive, meaning pre-cancers, or actual cancers of the female genital tract. This covers diseases like ovarian cancers, uterine cancers, cervix, vulvar and vaginal cancers. Our job is to help make sure that we give patients in our community the care they need in specific problems.
