We are especially concerned about children under the five, and in that group especially those who are very young, the infants and toddlers up to age two. For adults, anyone over the age 65 is at great risk and many people who have common illnesses like diabetes or heart disease are also at increased risk. Also illnesses that have to do with severe kidney, liver or lung disease will put people at risk because the body doesn’t have the resources to fight off the infection. Smokers are at risk, along with those who work with chemical fumes or in the areas of high pollution. Pregnant women are also at risk and should follow direction of their doctors if they have not been vaccinated prior to becoming pregnant.
