I spend a lot of time in my office talking to people about that. Am I getting dementia? Am I getting Alzheimer's disease? It is one of the most feared processes that people can think about but most of the time, we can do some simple testing of memory and we can say, “Look. Yeah. I do the same thing. I can’t remember sometimes where my car keys are. I have a hard time in parking garages some time, remember which level I’m parked on but I can find the car.”
You can find the car, so it’s okay. It’s not going to affect your life but we’re going to keep in mind … We want to be able to talk about it to reassure you if we can and we almost always can, that you're okay because most people who come in worried about memory loss often don’t have it. They often don’t have Alzheimer's disease but they know people who do. They have people in the family who have it and they’re just worried about it.
