Katherine Schmidt, MD, recently joined the team at Jamestown Family Medicine.
Dr. Schmidt grew up in Xenia where she attended St. Brigid School, and then graduated from Carroll High School in 2005. She graduated summa cum laude from Miami University in 2009 with a bachelor’s degree in chemistry, and was awarded a number of academic scholarship prizes in physics and chemistry. In 2013, she graduated from the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine. Dr. Schmidt completed her residency in Internal Medicine at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center in 2016. While a resident physician, she served on the Root Cause Analysis Team, focusing on improving patient care and safety in the hospital setting.
Dr. Schmidt is accepting new adult patients and accepts most insurances. Dr. Schmidt will have available appointments at Jamestown Family Medicine’s practices in both Jamestown and Xenia.Dr. Schmidt has contributed to and conducted research in the areas of obesity, dermatology, and molecular microspectroscopy. She co-authored a journal article on spectroscopy, and delivered poster presentations on insulinoma, tyrosinase proteins, and spectroscopy. Dr. Schmidt graduated summa cum laude from Miami University in 2005 with a bachelor’s degree in chemistry, and has received the Joseph A. Culler Physics Prize in 2007, and the Joseph A. Culler Chemistry Prize in 2006.
