20-Year Employee Celebrated at Premier Orthopedics

When Robin Bowman first met Dr. Don Delcamp and Dr. Robert Malarkey, she didn’t know that decades later she would be celebrating a long-term working relationship with their practice.

Premier Orthopedics recently celebrated Bowman’s 20 year anniversary of working in the office.

Bowman first met the doctors when their sons played little league baseball together. When the boys got older, she needed an orthopedic surgeon to take care of her son who was injured while playing high school sports.

“I wasn’t familiar with their office at the time. I just knew them from little league,” Bowman said. “I brought my son in, and they were looking for someone to fill a receptionist position, so I was here at the right time.” 

Bowman started in 1995 as a receptionist in the office, then known as Upper Valley Orthopaedics. 

“I have a degree in education, but this worked out as a much better option for me and my family,” she said.

Through the years, Bowman transitioned from her position as a receptionist to her current position as a surgery scheduler and workers compensation specialist for the practice. 

“It’s been a really good place to work over the years,” Bowman said. “The doctors all seem to respect the work that I do, and they tell me that I’m doing a good job.”

To celebrate her years of hard work and dedication, the practice hosted a 20 year dinner and decorated Bowman’s office. 

“The people I work with are really great. I’ve found some good friends through this office, and we’ve become like family over the years,” she said. “It’s been a good time.”

Bowman said having her own office is one thing she is proud to have achieved during her time with Premier Orthopedics. 

Looking forward, Bowman said she’s excited to continue her career with the practice.

“As I get a little closer to retirement age, I feel really fortunate to have been able to spend so many years working for the same place, with great people, and really enjoying what I do,” Bowman said.
