Certified Medical Assistant Brooke Perry’s positive attitude, team spirit, and hard work have made her a true asset to the Premier Orthopedics office.
“Brooke is so dedicated and so hardworking,” says Michael Herbenick, MD, with Premier Orthopedics. “She takes a lot of extra steps behind the scenes to make sure the patients get the best care possible.”
Before Brooke became a certified medical assistant, she was a firefighter/emergency medical technician (EMT) with the Beavercreek Township Fire Department.
“I went back to school while I was with the fire department and completed my degree program to get my associates degree,” Brooke says. “I became a mom, and so I wanted a more Mommy-friendly job – something where I could spend more time at home with my kids and something less dangerous.”
Brooke’s family includes her husband of 10 years and her two daughters.
Brooke chose to become a certified medical assistant because she wanted to stay somewhere in the medical field where she could continue to help people.
Once Brooke earned her degree, she worked with Beavercreek Family Physicians for two years before she joined Dr. Herbenick in 2013.
Dr. Herbenick couldn’t be more proud of the role Brooke has played in the office over the years.
“She is genuinely concerned about people and does so many good things for our patients,” he says. “She has really helped set the tone for everyone in the office. She would never say she’s a leader, because she would get embarrassed to say she was taking on that role, but she is a leader because of the way she acts toward others, tries to help, and mentors other people.”
Brooke says she enjoys the team she works with at Premier Orthopedics because they can have fun together, but they also all have the same goal of working together through any situation to end up with the best result for their patients.
“Everybody is in it for the same reason – we all want to come in and make sure our patients are well cared for,” Brooke says. “We all want to make a difference in someone’s day.”
Dr. Herbenick says Brooke is doing just that.
“Brooke is very diligent about trying to make the patient experience better. She makes a lot of follow up calls to patients, and she really take the time to make sure they are getting the care they need,” he says. “She’s just a great person to work with.”
