Recent Atrium Medical Center DAISY Award Recipients - October 2018
Leah Dykstra, RN, 4 North
Leah portrays what nursing is all about. She exemplifies the Atrium Medical Center vision of how we deliver care. She is mentioned frequently by staff and the community for how well she relates to patients by communicating our promise. She is a new nurse, but already has that “something special” to make a huge impact on our patient’s lives. She is sweet, positive, easy to manage, patient-centered, honest, engaged, and an amazing nurse. Atrium Medical Center is blessed to have Leah as part of our team!
Theresa Kreitzer, BSN, RN, Integrated Care Management
Theresa stepped into a very challenging role of lead case manager for readmissions and instantly owned it. She treats each of these at-risk patients as one of her own relatives and develops tight relationships with both the patient and family. She learns all the details of their home situations and works very hard to build a trusting relationship. She treats her patients as if they are her friend or neighbor. Theresa makes sure her patients get the resources they need to get better. She strongly promotes our mission and makes us Premier Proud!
Shawn Rogers, RN, BSN, Intensive Care Unit
“Shawn was our ICU nurse. I was very relieved, as I knew our family member would be in good hands. While caring for our family member, Shawn managed to answer questions (sometimes numerous times), pass out tissues, talk to the physician team, and most importantly, care for our loved one with grace, skill, and compassion. Shawn was the calm that our family member desperately needed during our storm. Shawn went above and beyond, gave us clear communication each step of the way, was professional, and made a difference in our lives. Calling Shawn an exceptional nurse doesn’t seem to be enough! Thank you, Shawn!”
