CompuNet: Rubella Immunity Status Reporting Changes
Rubella Immunity Status Reporting Changes
Effective May 18, 2024, CompuNet Clinical Laboratories will append a low alert flag for Rubella IgG Immune Status results that are not consistent with immunity.
Rubella is a contagious disease that causes low-grade fever, sore throat and a total body rash. It can also cause fertility and reproductive issues, including birth defects. Just one dose of the MMR vaccine provides nearly 97% effectiveness in preventing the disease. This change in our reporting format will alert providers when a patient does not show evidence of immunity.
Please note that the reference range indicated below has not changed. The only change is that values reported as less than 1.0 will be flagged as LOW (L).
