CompuNet Receives College of American Pathology Re-Accreditation

CompuNet Clinical Laboratories successfully achieved re-accreditation through the College of American Pathologists (CAP). This biennial laboratory-based accreditation process was notable in this inspection cycle due to the first inspection of our laboratories as a single system.  All ten laboratories of CompuNet were inspected by regional CAP Commissioners over four days. The focus of the inspection reviewed quality, patient care, safety and regulatory requirements necessary to obtain re-accreditation. Additionally, the inspection included a review of the standardization of the laboratories across a variety of topics, including, but not limited to, policies, procedures, instrumentation, laboratory reference ranges, critical values, staff competencies, medical directorship, quality assurance, and support of hospital facilities. CompuNet not only received reaccreditation from all ten sites, affirming our commitment to quality laboratory services, but also received favorable feedback from the CAP inspectors on the systemization of our laboratory network.
