OB Hepatitis C Screening Reflexive Test Available

Effective January 10, 2024, CompuNet will begin to offer a reflexive OB Hepatitis C Screening test based on CDC recommendations to screen all pregnant women during each pregnancy. The test will allow a single specimen collection to provide results on the HCV status. See below for the reflexive algorithm for EPIC LAB6864 (OB Hepatitis C Screening).

Because the test is reflexive, additional testing may be warranted, which may not be reimbursable by the initial diagnosis code for Hepatitis C screening. CompuNet’s billing department will contact practices seeking additional diagnosis codes, if indicated, to cover reimbursement for additional testing performed. Suggested diagnosis codes are included here and are available on the CompuNet website under the provider section at www.Compunetlab.com.

Should the office not provide the necessary assistance in providing the additional diagnosis codes to support reimbursement, CompuNet may disable the reflexive test. Providers will then have to return to ordering a la carte.
