Introducing Premier Health’s New Mission Statement

In late summer, more than 2,100 employees responded to a survey to help create Premier Health’s mission and values. The survey was similar to the one sent last year when we created our vision statement – “To Inspire Better Health.” In the weeks that followed the survey, a team sifted through and considered more than 400 comments submitted by employees. 

This led to the Premier Health board unanimously approving a new mission statement for our organization: “We Care. We Teach. We Innovate. We Serve.”

These four action statements capture so much of what we do. They support the vision many employees helped create last year. A noteworthy addition to the mission is the word TEACH. Although teaching doctors, nurses, and other clinicians has been a core part of our work from the very beginning, this update calls out teaching as an intentional part of our mission.

In addition, employees emphasized the need for and importance of teamwork. Each employee shows up with their individual skills, but teamwork and acting as One Premier are how we will best take care of our community, patients, and each other. With that in mind, each statement begins with WE.

Along with the mission statement, the board approved the “I CARE” values:

• Integrity
• Compassion
• Authenticity
• Respect
• Excellence

I CARE includes all our values from before – Respect, Integrity, Compassion, Excellence with the addition of Authenticity.
