Outpatient Testing Stat Order Change
Due to recent advancements in laboratory automation, multiple access points, and turnaround time performance, CompuNet will no longer differentiate STAT orders from other priorities for all outpatient testing. This policy was effective on April 14. We will continue to offer STAT testing for hospitals and long-term care facilities.
Update On FDA Ruling On Lab-Developed Tests
On March 31, courts overturned the FDA ruling on LDT (Lab Developed Tests). Thank you to all who participated in the campaign to notify their representative to make our voices heard.
Test Updates: Adult Hemoglobin Critical Value Changing For Inpatients and ED Only
Following a request from the Premier Health Medical Executive Committee and approval from CompuNet Clinical Laboratories' Medical Directors, a change to the adult critical Hemoglobin (Hgb) value was made effective on April 2.

Hgb Critical Value (effective April 2, 2025) <7.0 g/dl
Hgb Critical Value (before April 2, 2025) <6.5 g/dl
Please note that this change does not apply to ambulatory practices where the adult critical Hemoglobin value will remain at <6.0 g/dl.
