What brought you to Premier Health?

The opportunity to lead a Bariatric Program and be a part of our region’s leading health care system. Premier Health and I have similar visions of achieving the highest quality care for our patients. My wife and I were also impressed by everything that the greater Dayton area has to offer and felt this would be a wonderful community to raise our family.

Why did you choose medicine as a career?

The desire for a challenge and the pursuit of excellence in my work. I always have looked up to physicians and genuinely find pleasure in taking care of and serving others.

Who are the people who influenced and/or mentored you?

I have had the pleasure of building long-lasting friendships with many wonderful people from the societal ranks of janitors to physicians. I have always surrounded myself with people with personal disciplines and characteristics I admired regardless of their position in society and have been pleased to notice that I eventually adapted similar traits through their friendship and support. I feel I am simply a mold of those I have looked up to and surrounded myself by.

What is one thing most people don’t know about you?

I love traveling to and exploring National Parks.

Where is your hometown?

New Albany, Indiana (just north of Louisville)

What, if any, sports team(s) do you cheer for?

I love the Indiana Hoosiers and the Indianapolis Colts.

What is the last book you read?

The Power of Now, by Eckhart Tolle

What is your favorite song in your playlist?

“Money for Nothing” by Dire Straits

What is your favorite food?

A good homemade biscuits and gravy

What is your favorite hobby?

Home improvement project and working in the yard

What is your favorite animal, and why?

Dogs – because of their loyalty, energy, and unconditional love.

Where is your favorite vacation spot, and why?

Florida (Tampa Bay area) – my wife and I have a second home there.

Describe something (a thing, person, place, experience, etc.) for which you are especially thankful:

I am especially thankful for my beautiful wife, Amanda. We have three daughters under the age of three years, and Amanda works way harder than I do, staying at home with our twins Winnie/Quinn (2) and Pippa Grace (11 months).
