The Berry Health Center – OB-GYN Clinic Is Now Seeing Patients
On July 1, the Berry Health Center – OB-GYN Clinic began seeing its first patients. The clinic is a collaboration between Wright State University’s Boonshoft School of Medicine (BSOM), Wright State Physicians, and Premier Physician Network (PPN), and it provides comprehensive maternal health care to underserved patients in our community.
The clinic is conveniently located on the Miami Valley Hospital campus at 161 Wyoming Street, Suite 100W. It features two procedure rooms, an ultrasound, and 25 exam rooms.
The clinic is staffed by 16 OB-GYN residents from BSOM who are guided by their faculty advisors, David Dhanraj, MD, and Geoffrey Towers, MD. This collaboration represents a step toward Miami Valley Hospital South's recognition as an official Academic Medical Center.
The clinic's goals are to decrease preterm labor and infant mortality in our community. Its new, comprehensive care model features a team that includes a social worker and a nurse navigator who will help connect patients to additional community resources.
Leaders from BSOM and PPN worked closely together in planning the Berry Health Center – OB-GYN Clinic to create a space that will provide state-of-the-art teaching and excellent patient care. The new clinic and comprehensive care approach will greatly benefit the Dayton community.
