Solomon’s Story: Progressing In His Journey
A few weeks from police academy graduation, Solomon Kessio was severely injured in an accident. His training instructor was first on the scene, and a bystander started CPR when Solomon was unresponsive. Quickly responding to a 911 call, the Dayton Fire Department transported him to Miami Valley Hospital’s Level I Trauma Center.
There, a CT scan revealed that Solomon was having severe bleeding and swelling in his brain. For the first 24 hours, neurological exams helped monitor his condition, while the trauma team repaired lacerations and controlled pain from rib fractures. After 19 days at Miami Valley Hospital, he was discharged to an inpatient rehabilitation center. Solomon continues to progress in his recovery and journey to becoming a police officer.
