The Clinical Research Center

The Premier Health Clinical Research Center (CRC) was established to develop, facilitate, manage and enhance research at Premier Health. The goals of the Center are to:

Facilitate, develop and promote relevant research, which contributes both to patient care and to the body of investigative literature.

Assist attending physicians, faculty, residents and students in obtaining a basic understanding of the research process at Premier Health institutions.

Participate in industry-sponsored clinical trials in conjunction with the Premier Health-Wright State University Clinical Trials Research Alliance (CTRA) .

The Bioscience Center and Orthopedic Specialty Training Laboratory

The Bioscience Center is a modern, well-equipped facility for support of overall hospital education activities. Unique capabilities include microsurgical and microvascular suites, multifaceted gross anatomy rooms, and two research basic/translational science laboratories. Various anatomy curriculums support resident skills development, Boonshoft School of Medicine, CareFlight, and mobile intensive care unit.

The Center maintains two adult and one baby SimMan® high fidelity, computer-controlled simulators. Video recording and instructor suites are available for post-event debriefing. This facility provides a skills laboratory for training in unique orthopedic procedures.

Centralized Management for All Research Activities and Clinical Trials

The CRC serves as the focal point for all research activities at Premier Health in conjunction with Wright State University (WSU). The CRC staff assists in protocol development, provides guidance on institutional review board (IRB) procedures required by the WSU and other external IRBs.

Administrative support for consent documents and IRB applications is available.
