Prenatal Care
You’ve just learned you’re pregnant and you’re filled with excitement, anticipation, and no small share of fear. We understand. That’s why Lifestages tailors our prenatal care to assure that you’re doing everything you can to have a healthy and happy pregnancy.
If you are pregnant, especially for the first time, please understand that no question or concern is “stupid” or unreasonable. Your prenatal visits are your time to know what is going on with you and your unborn child. By receiving prenatal care you know you are giving your baby the best possible start at life.
In our first meetings, you’ll be getting to know us while we’ll be getting to know you. Here’s what you can expect:
Lifestyle: We will want to get to know you and your life habits so we both have an understanding that will help you make good decisions to empower you throughout your pregnancy.
Medical history: We will want to talk with you about your menstrual cycle, past pregnancies, personal and family history, medication use and birth control history. At this time, please don’t be afraid to bring up sensitive issues such as domestic abuse, drug/alcohol use and abortion. We promise to be understanding and discreet.
Physical exam: Your height, weight and blood pressure will be checked along with overall health. We may need to perform an internal exam as well.
