Running Physical Therapy

When an injury or health disorder disrupts your run, we’re ready to help you get back to your active lifestyle. Our team of running physical therapists are skilled in the evaluation process and will implement an independent program focused on improving your pain and physical function to get you moving again.

How Does It Work?

This customized physical therapy program concentrates on running biomechanics to find the root cause of your injury, lower the risk of recurrence, and promote long-term health. In contrast to traditional physical therapy, running physical therapy includes a detailed video gait analysis of your running, going beyond the typical standard of care for a physical therapy patient. Treatment may include some forms of traditional physical therapy such as strengthening, stretching, joint mobilization, dry needling, and manual therapy but will also include drills and movements related to running.

Running Analysis

Even if you aren’t injured, you can still receive a running analysis. We offer our full running video gait analysis for runners wanting to learn about their biomechanics in order to prevent injury and enhance performance. This is provided at a cost of $100 and includes the running analysis as well as strategies to help modify any deficits found in the assessment. Call one of our locations below to schedule.

A Physician Order Is Not Required

The state of Ohio Physical Therapy Practice Act and Premier Health both allow patients to be seen via Direct Access. That means no physician order is required.

However, some insurance companies require a physician order, so check with your insurance plan or ask our team to assist you.
