Commitment To the Under-Served
Community members who are uninsured, under-insured and/or have low incomes should have access to quality health care. Premier Health is dedicated to providing that care.
In 2016, Premier Health provided $160 million in free care, community services, and programs to keep under-served community members healthy. That includes:
- $89.1 million in non-reimbursed Medicaid services
- $71 million in charity care and other services for low-income families
That $160 million was the real cost of our care. It does not include bad debt or non-reimbursed services we provided for patients on Medicare.
Premier Health Low-Income Programs
We feel that it’s important to help low-income families pay their medical bills and buy medicine. That’s why we help patients qualify for federal, state, and local programs. We also offer preventive care for people in need at our neighborhood Premier Health primary care offices.
Affordable Medications For Premier Health Patients In Need
Our hospitals fill prescriptions at no cost for Premier Health patients in need, and we offer programs for medication assistance. One of these is Miami Valley Hospital’s Medication Case Management program for patients with chronic medical conditions.
